![]() ![]() System Changes: There is now a volume slider where you can adjust music, sfx, and dialogue to your liking. Best part about the new shops though are the ability to now equip items directly to party members and see the possible stat changes prior to making changes. Shops: There were some changes to the costs items as well as stat changes to pieces of armor and weapons. ![]() Dropped by enemies, it can be traded for consumable items or equipment that can be used back in the main game. There’s a new currency only accessible and useable in the Vault of Time called Mementos. Basically, its a place where you can go to battle out monsters and grind before you take on a boss if you feel you need to. Vault of Time: The Vault of Time is a new area in the game that reminds me a lot of the Item Worlds of the Disgaea series only they do not seem to be randomized in Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology. There are also some new CG art pieces that have been added to key scenes and can be viewed again from a new Gallery alongside the character art. Though the sprites and sets in which they move are mostly the same, the artwork for when characters are speaking is all brand new. There is also a new Mini Map viewable on th bottom screen that gives general information about room sizes and their entrances / exits. Another notable change in visuals is the new character art. Visuals: First off, the playable game area has been moved from the bottom screen on the DS to the top screen on the 3DS. The original composer, Yoko Shimomura, has also returned with five new tracks that mostly focus themselves into the new timeline with Nemesia. In addition to this, you can also press “Y” to have the dialogue auto-advance when lines have been read giving the game a more cinematic presentation. Imaging it like Futaba’s role in the battles of Persona 5 but in this game, every character can learn them and use them when not part of the active fighting party.Īudio: One great change is that all main characters now have fully voiced dialogue. Support Skills: These are a new addition to the battle system where in your benched party members will randomly do things helpful to the current battle. Normal and Hard will adjust enemy stats in battle and can be interchanged at will. It should be noted that once friendly mode is selected, you cannot change to another difficulty without restarting the whole game. Friendly allows the player to experience the game without the threat of battle, just walk into an enemy on the world map to stun them or hit them to be granted an instant victory along with the spoils of loot and EXP. This new timeline is offered to the player in two separate ways, chosen at the start of the game. Playing the game in Perfect Mode opens up Nemesia’s timeline to be meshed into the original story as if it was there all along whereas Append Mode gives the player the original story in full and then presents Nemesia’s timeline as a playable series of “what-if” scenarios.ĭifficulty: The original DS release had no options for changing difficulty, Perfect Chronology has three (out of the box). ![]() She is a historian of sorts that enlists Stocke (main protagonist) to help her uncover the mystery of the desertification that threatens the world. Story: Perfect Chronology’s main draw for those who already played the original is the addition of a timeline that focuses on a new character, Nemesia. ![]() Hey folks, I’ve been tasked with reviewing the game Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology for the site and though I’m not done with that task at the moment, I wanted to take a sidestep and type up all the changes and additions to this 3DS remake of an amazing DS game. ![]()
